January 2024 - Community Involvement
Hicks Transport Group recently supported the Katamatite Lions Rodeo as a Gold Sponsor and supplied a refrigerated trailer for cold storage throughout the event.
After days of unusual rainfall, the weather on the day was spot on and the crowds of locals and holidaymakers made the most of it – nearly 4000 tickets were sold! The large-scale event for the area was made possible by several local sporting clubs and the like coming together as one, with the support of many local business in the form of both financial and goods sponsorship.
October - Daniher's Drive
Since the beginning in 2014 Hicks Transport Group have proudly supported and taken part in the Daniher’s Drive with two teams; Lorna’s Cobram Crew and Lorna’s Girls.
The Daniher’s Drive raises vital funds to Fight the Beast that is MND (Motor Neurone Disease).
This cause is one close to the hearts of the Hicks Team, particularly Warren, Simon & Naomi who lost their mother Lorna Hicks to the disease over 20 years ago.
The 4-day regional road trip takes over 300 participants around regional Victoria, spreading awareness and raising funds.
Over the 9 years that Lorna’s Cobram Crew & Lorna’s Girls have participated in the drive they have collectively raised $466,980.00; in 2023 the 2 teams raised a combined total of just over $70,000.
July 2023 - Welcoming #92 to the Fleet
The Volvo FH600 Prime Mover is a welcome addition to the Hicks Transport Group Fleet. The new prime mover offers leading capabilities in fuel efficiency and safety features including lane change support, collision warning & emergency braking. Not to be forgotten are the creature comforts; extra wide bunk, upgraded cab storage and refrigerator to name a few. The maintenance, rotation and upgrading of equipment is imperative to meeting safety requirements and ensuring that Hicks Transport Group continue to be a leading freight & logistics provider.
Long standing employee of 17 years Bruce, who does a daily run from the Cobram depot to Melbourne is proud as punch to be behind the wheel of the new Volvo.
